Customized Solutions For Importers
Line of Credit
We understand that it takes time to turn a purchase into cash. As an importer, you may need access to extra cash to ensure that your business runs smoothly. An Globus Union line of credit provides access to much needed working capital so you can maintain a healthy cash flow and expand your purchasing power overseas.
Import Letter of Credit (LC) & Trust Receipt (TR) Loan
Short-term loans which allow importers to take possession of goods and/or shipping documents on trust. Globus Union guarantees payment to exporters via a Letter of Credit, while a Trust Receipt serves as a promissory note by importers to the bank that the loan will be repaid upon its due date.
Bankers’ Acceptance (BA)
Short-term debt instruments, or time drafts, whereby Globus Union accepts and guarantees payment to exporters at a promised future date. BAs allow importers to obtain immediate cash flow by having the opportunity to resell their goods before payment is due.
Documents Against Acceptance (D/A) or Documents Against Payment (D/P) Financing
Short-term financing allowing importers to facilitate the clearing/releasing of goods at customs with the use of a negotiable instrument (Bill of Exchange). Payment for goods is made directly to Globus Union either upon receipt of the sight draft (D/P) or on a specified future date (D/A).
Local/Foreign Purchase Financing
Short-term financing where Globus Union advances money to importers/buyers by making the payment directly to suppliers so that buyers can fulfill medium to large orders in a timely manner.
Customized Solutions For Exporters
Pre-Export Financing
Short-term financing to cover the purchasing, consolidating, packing and shipping of raw materials or finished goods based on proven orders from buyers.
Export Bill Purchased
Short-term financing to the exporter under export letters of credit to bridge the gap between the shipment of goods and draft acceptance by the issuing bank, provided that no discrepant documents are presented to Globus Union.
Export Acceptance Finance (Bill Discount)
Short-term financing to the exporter under export usance letters of credit after bills are accepted by issuing banks that undertake to effect payment at maturity.
Receivables Factoring Financing
Short-term financing allows exporters to obtain instant liquidity by selling Globus Union their accounts receivables owed from approved buyers. This type of financing helps exporters save the time, money and labor associated with debt collection.
Trade Services
Are you nervous about a newly established international business relationship? Are you entering into an unfamiliar global market? Do you need to ensure that you receive payments on time?
Our international trade services offer you various products to help ease your new business relationship, mitigate the uncertainty and facilitate a smooth transaction.
Letters Of Credit
Letters of Credit (LC) are one of the most secure forms of settlement for international payments. An LC is a commitment by a bank on behalf of the buyer that payment will be made to the beneficiary (exporter) provided that LC terms and conditions have been met, as verified through the presentation of all required documents.
Documentary Collections
A Documentary Collection is a transaction whereby the exporter entrusts the collection of payment to the remitting bank (exporter’s bank), which sends documents to a collecting bank (importer’s bank), along with instructions for payment. Funds are received from the importer and remitted to the exporter through the banks involved in the collection in exchange for those documents. Documentary Collections involve the use of a draft that requires the importer to pay the face amount either at sight (Document Against Payment—D/P) or on a specified date in the future (Document Against Acceptance—D/A).
Direct Collections
A Direct Collection is a transaction whereby the exporter send the collection documents, accompanied by their bank’s printed form and/or cover letter, directly to the importer’s bank for payment. It carries the same power as Documentary Collections but with improved turnaround time and lower cost. Similar to a Documentary Collection, Direct Collections may involve the use of a draft that requires the importer to pay the face amount either on sight (Document Against Payment—D/P) or on a specified future date (document against acceptance—D/A).
Standby Letter Of Credit
Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC) serve as a guarantee of payment issued by a bank on behalf of a client that is used as "payment of last resort" should the client/applicant fail to fulfill a contractual commitment with a third party/beneficiary.
